A BILL to amend article five, chapter eighteen of the code of West
Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended, by
adding thereto a new section, designated section thirteen-b,
relating to education; county boards of education; and
requiring reading teachers with early literacy intervention
training in all elementary schools.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That article five, chapter eighteen of the code of West
Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended, be
amended by adding thereto a new section, designated section
thirteen-b, to read as follows:
ARTICLE 5. COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION.
§18-5-13b. Early literacy intervention teachers in elementary
schools.
The board of each county shall employ reading teachers with
early literacy intervention training for all elementary schools.
NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to require county boards of
education to employ teachers with early literacy intervention
training for all elementary schools.
